Connelly became a star with her next picture, the fantasy Labyrinth (1986), playing Sarah, a teenager who wishes her baby brother into the world of goblins ruled by goblin king Jareth (David Bowie), where she then must journey to retrieve him; the film disappointed at the box office, but became a cult classic in later years with a large fan following still in existence. Connelly starred in several obscure films, such as Etoile (1988) and Some Girls (1988). The Dennis Hopper-directed The Hot Spot (1990) was not a success, critically or commercially; it would be the first of seven movies in which she appeared nude.

Connelly was featured on the cover of Esquire in August 1991, as part of the "Women We Love" feature. She appeared alongside Jason Priestley in the Roy Orbison music video for "I Drove All Night" in 1992.

The big-budget Disney film The Rocketeer (1991) similarly failed to ignite Connelly's career; after its failure, she took some time off from acting. The 1996 independent film Far Harbor played her against type and hinted at a much broader range than she had previously shown. Connelly began to appear in smaller but well-regarded films, such as 1997's Inventing the Abbotts and 2000's Waking the Dead. She played a collegiate lesbian in John Singleton's 1995 ensemble drama, Higher Learning. The critically favored 1998 science fiction film Dark City afforded her the chance to work with such actors as Rufus Sewell, William Hurt, Ian Richardson, and Kiefer Sutherland. Connelly's big breakthrough was the 2000 film Requiem for a Dream. Connelly starred alongside Jared Leto and Marlon Wayans as drug addicts on the edge of a breakdown. Connelly next starred in Ron Howard's film A Beautiful Mind (2001), essaying the role of Alicia Nash, the long-suffering wife of the brilliant, schizophrenic mathematician John Forbes Nash, Jr. (played by Russell Crowe). The film was a critical and commercial success and earned Connelly a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her appearance in A Beautiful Mind led to a featured article in Time magazine.

Connelly starred in two films in 2003: Hulk and House of Sand and Fog. Hulk was a moderate success at the box office and afforded Connelly the chance to work with noted director Ang Lee. House of Sand and Fog, based on the novel by Andre Dubus III, was reminiscent of much of her independent film work of the late 1990s. Connelly appeared in the 2005 horror film Dark Water, which was based on a Japanese film. In 2006, Connelly appeared in two films, both of which were nominated for multiple Academy Awards. She played a major role in an adaptation of the novel Little Children alongside Kate Winslet. Although her role as Kathy Adamson is very important in the novel, director Todd Field gave her character less screen time, instead focusing on the characters played by Winslet and Patrick Wilson. She played a journalist in Blood Diamond opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. She next appeared in Reservation Road with Joaquin Phoenix, which was given a limited release in the fall of 2007.

Connelly appeared alongside Keanu Reeves in the 2008 remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic The Day The Earth Stood Still. Her 2009 roles include a costume drama biopic with her real-life husband Paul Bettany called Creation, in which the couple play the 19th century married couple Charles Darwin and his wife in the months surrounding his controversial theories on evolution. Jennifer also co-starred in a role opposite Jennifer Aniston and Ginnifer Goodwin in He's Just Not That Into You.

In 2008, she was named the face of Balenciaga's ads,as well as the new face for Revlon cosmetics.

#10 Well i made a conscious effort not to include bgraders , to keep this list as classy as can be, but then ex miss india shruti sharma came along with her juicy succulent lips. From the movie Tezaab - An acid of love, applause to whoever made this movie, they got the miss indian in it and then got her to do a lot of smooch sequences & all were done exceedingly well, shruti in hindsight might think of this movie as a mistake but baby you break into our top 10 smooch list immortalized on the internet what more could you ask for.

#9 If we have a miss india at #10 then we do better by having a miss universe at 9.
According to the interview lara gave after mumbai se aya mera dost , she asked a 1000 questions to the director regarding this kiss and its importance, he probably mustve just said you gotta do it to survive in bollywood, and the BIG B’s son who was a nobody back then got to taste the miss universe. Lara againg went ahead & smooched small b in Jhoom barabar jhoom (where as in the same movie preity gave abhishek a cheat kiss..wonder why one actress can get away with a cheat kiss whereas the other one has to do a real smoochie ) Lara has also done an elongated extended kissing sequence with sanjay dutt in zinda. Points to director lakhiya for giving lara those extra deep cholis , yeah right thats how they dress in rural india.

#8 Neha Dhupia must get a mention, i think she has been the best miss india to come out in recent times, she started off with couple pure skinema movies julie & sheesha out of which sheesha is surely my pick here , why ? simply because she has a double role, imagine two neha dhupia’s …imagine…

#7 After her seperation with Rajesh Khanna , Dimple Kapadia did smooch around with rishi kapoor in the movie sagar ,apparently even has a nude scene in the movie but a year later she did jaanbaaz and there shared a passionate smooch in probably one of the most erotic scenes in hindi cinema , making out in a stable with erotic imagery. Hats off to feroz khan.

#6 At #6 we have another miss india & India’s most famous model Madhu Sapre in what can be discribed as an animalistic hard kiss on indian screen ever. Jackie at the end of it is shaken & it does seem like it , and for a change its the female here who is more actively engaged in the kiss. Boom was a disaster of a movie but this kiss makes it worthwhile.

#5 We have the Queen B Madhuri Dixit here , in Vardi we have jackie shroff going all over a very young madhuri dixit. There are loads of goodies to be seen here if you know what i mean, Vardi was a small little movie & this was a time whemn smooching in movies wasnt common at all, but madhuri who was riding the success of dayavan was probably coaxed into doing this smooch by umesh mehra in this late 80s movie.

#4 Might not be the best kiss of them all , but its Zeenat Aman - the one and only Zeenat Aman, Shashi Kapoor did taste her a couple of times in Satyam Shivam Sundaram & she gets the spot at #4

#3 Goes to the notorious ‘real’ serial killer himself - Kamal Hassan. Kamal is the real deal , all other serial kissers are just wannabes(with the exception of Vinod Khanna & Aamir Khan ofcourse ) Kamal got a really young rani mukherjee dressed up as a sensual bengali housewife (everyguys wet dream) And yeah it was a proper kiss.

#2 There are no two ways about it. This just had to be on the top somewhere.
Her career was going nowhere , she was doing a lot of shitty movies with some really shitty stars, but this kiss salvaged her career. It made her the rani hindustani of bollywood. Aamir bagged another kiss. This kiss is special as rani hindustani’s first & last smoochie on screen & it rightly lists at #2 of our list.

Before revealing the #1 Bollywood smooch of all times, lets quickly run through the near misses…the kisses which just barely missed making into the list

Preity Zinta - Saif Ali Khan, Salaam Namaste
This is actually preity’s 2nd kiss with saif , and this one is actually a good one, preity is in skimpies throughout the movie & the couple of kiss scenes are pretty neatly done too, preity does seem a little held back though.

Koena Mitra - Fardeen Khan, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena
This was a good one , a real good one, Fardeen is quite the playa. If anything be the reason for me not to have it in the list it would be koena mitra.

Bipasha Basu - John Abraham, Jism
Another noteable mention , the young lovers kiss in a very passionate love filled embrace, and then ronaldo scored.

Tara Deshpande - Naseeruddin Shah, Bombay Boys
Strage choice one might say, but this was as exploitative a kiss as it was meant to look on the screen, tara deshpande looked really hot ..almost like a young salma hayek, sadly she never quite hit it big in bollywood. Ive had my eye on tara since a long long time when she used to host a quiz show for kids called kab kyon kahan on zee tv more than a decade or so back. Am i the only one who remembers seeing that show ?

Nandana Sen - Mohan Agashe, Seducing Maarya

Nandana is hot & she kisses in almost all her movies, we gotta love this girl.
Mohan agashe plays the role of her father in law & he smooches her , mohan agashe also got it on with a very young diyva dutta in last train to pakistan. This old boy sure has had loads of fun.

I have excluded two notorious ’serial kissers’ from the list & thus the actors/actresses with whom they got it on also got excluded. Firstly Emran Hashmi dubbed as the ’serial kisser of bollywood’ by the media. In all his smooches he looks depraved, without any class, like a pomerian pup licking your shoes. He might have the numbers but he sure lacks the ’skill’. The second exclusion is the kissing record holder of bollywood mallika sherawat. Completely deviod of any passion & suprisingly very aware of the camera kisses , she looks really frigid. Doesnt make my list of top 10.

Which takes us to the numero uno kiss in bollywood. The baap of all kisses.

#1 She was 23 years old, He was 42. He was a upcomming ganster, she earned her living & tution fees for her exams by selling her body. You have guessed it allright & you knew for sure this was going to be the #1 kiss in bollywood. Feroz Khan earlier got dimple kapadia smooching around, now got a young innocent nubile madhuri dixit to get in bed and give one of the longest smooch scenes in the history of bollywood. Vinod Khanna seemed ever so eager to latch onto young madhuri’s beautiful lips.
This smooch made headlines then & even now after almost 2 decades it still reigns supreme as the #1 kiss in bollywood.

Mohanlal is going to do a film with Jackie Chan in his upcoming movie titled 'Nair San'. The movie, to be directed by Albert, is a based on the life history of Ayyappan Pillai Madhavan Nair, who was known as Nair San in Japan. Leading Japanese actress Shunsuken Matosuoka will probably star opposite Mohanlal in this film depicting the era between 1920 and 1970.

Nair San lived in Japan for over half a century and spent several years in Manchuria. There, he was an unofficial advisor to the Manchukuo Government and the Kwangtung Army. Interestingly, when India won the 1964 Olympics hockey gold medal, the national anthem played was that of Pakistan, by mistake. And it was Nair San, the global Malayalee, who was the one to point out the mistake and rectify it. Nair San is the owner of world famous Ginza Nair Restaurant in Tokyo.

The film will be shot in Mongolia, and will have a Japanese, Chinese and English version. The film's shoot will start on September 1st. Mohanlal has given a 125-day call sheet for the film, which will be shot in Mongolia, Japan and Hong Kong. It is a big budget commercial extravaganza with a budget of around Rs 60 crore. The Morphous group from the Middle East is funding the project

Shaji N. Karun’s latest film ‘Kutty Shranku’ is a mosaic of reminiscences that depict the portrait of a man as seen through the eyes of three women who knew him during various phases of his life. Their reminiscences give the viewers a picture of his personality and character. Mammooty is featured in the lead role.

This is the first time that Mammooty is joining hands with the award winning director Shaji.N.Karun. Shaji began his career as a cinematographer and later turned to direction, with his first film Piravi, released in 1989 winning him the prestigious Camera d’Or-Mention d’honneur at the Cannes Film Festival. Since then, every film of Shaji has attracted international attention.

In the movie Mammooty plays the role of a boat driver called “Shrank”. The film is being narrated in the form of magical realism, a space where fact and fiction merge to create its own world.

No one have any clues about Srank the character, his origins or his religion. He speaks in a peculiar Kochi slang and the story develops in Malabar, Kochi and Travancore. The story takes place around the time that Ambedkar chose to turn to Buddhism in the 1950s.

The film is on the perspectives of three women and their memories of the Srank. Three women have been presented in the backdrop of three different seasons. Kamalini Mukerjee, who was first introduced in the song Partha Mudhalnaale from the movie Vettayadu Vilayadu, became a sensation in Tamil movie. She then got offers from many Telugu movies.

Through a twist in the movie Mammooty faces death and all the 3 women become widows. It is only then that they come to know each other and their relationship with Srank.

It was a challenge for Mammooty because the basic nature of all the three characters portrayed by him is same but there are different behavioral patterns and mannerisms based on what the three women says.
P.F. Mathews has written screenplay of the film. Another woman in the Srank’s life is Revamma played by Padmapriya, whom he meets during his life on the Malabar Coast.

As the film is through the views of women, Shaji chose a woman cameraman Anjali, as there is evidently difference in the way a man and a woman would visualize things. Anjali has been working with acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan. She is, perhaps, the first woman to wield the camera for a feature film in Malayalam.

The fight sequences will be staged by a Japanese firm that handles the action sequences for Jackie Chan films.

Isaac Thomas Kottukappilly composes the music of the film. Mammooty will be singing a song for this movie.

It is scheduled for an international premier in this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Kutti Srank will also mark the maiden entry of Reliance Big Entertainment one of the biggest production houses in India into the Malayalam film industry.

The filming and post-production work of the film has been completed and is awaiting theatrical release.

Vande Mataram, is an investigative action thriller with superstar Mammooty and Tamil action hero Arjun in the lead, has completed shooting last year.

Vande Mataram is directed by T. Aravind, tells the story of a group of officers who go hunting for terrorists, who have been creating havoc in the Tamilnadu - Kerala border. Mammootty plays an officer in the Intelligence Bureau while Arjun plays a Superintendent of Police.

The film begins at RAW showing that the central investigative agency finds out that Malik, head of a terrorist organization, has crossed the border and entered India to execute deadly explosions in South India. Gopi Krishnan played by Mammootty, Southern zone command director of the Intelligence bureau, is assigned the task of tracing the plans of the group, eliminating them and destroying their plans.

Gopi Krishnan forms a core team with support from Anwar Hussain played by Arjun, who joins the group on deputation from the State police. The execution of Operation Malik forms the climax of the movie which was shot in Sengundram with the lead actors and many junior artistes.

The film will feature two heroines, Sneha as a pilot and wife of Gopi Krishnan and Sharadha Arya as an ornithologist as the love interest off Arjun. Deepak J.D. makes his debut as villain.

Other important roles are portrayed by Jagadish, Jai Akash, Riyaz Khan, Vijay Kumar, Rajan P. Dev, Raj Kapoor and Mumtaj.

Cinematography is by Vetri and Rajesh Yadav.

The action sequences and stunts were choreographed by stunt director Anal Arasu.

K. Santhosh has written the dialogues for the Malayalam version.
The five songs in the movie were penned by Gireesh Puthencherry and Vayalar Sharatchandra Varma and are tuned by Vidyasagar. The Tamil verses are written by P. Vijay, Vairamuthu and Yugabarathi.

The film is a bilingual project, being made simultaneously in Tamil with the title Aaruvadai. Produced by Pankaj film’s Henry.

This patriotic action flick was made at a budget of Rs 14 crores.

Akku Akbar, who was behind the big commercial success Veruthe Oru Bharya, starring Jayaram is teaming up with Mammooty for his next venture. The movie titled Thappana is on, and the script is by Reji Nair who had earlier scripted Lal Jose-directed Mammooty film Pattaalam. Reji Nair has proved he can find good story, but he will get carried away by the commercial elements to be incorporated in the film.

Veruthe Oru Bharya made it big because it communicated with the thoughts and resembled the lives of housewives which constituted a major portion of the Kerala Population. Jayaram accepted his age in the film and looked and acted differently from his other films. The camera done by Shaji was good, and the film had a heart. Any way its success was beyond the dreams of its director and Producer. No reviewer has forecasted its monumental success. Akku Akbar was earlier part of the Akbar-Jose duo, who had taken some good films. He turned independent director with Gauri the Unborn a Hindi film. Gauri delt with a different subject, what will happen to the soul of an unborn child if it were killed by parents?

Thappana is a Malayalam word which means an elephant used to train wild elephants. The film narrates the story of the emotional bonding between a man and an elephant. In this film, Mammooty plays the role of Ganapathy.

Elephant Kannan which belongs to actor Jayaram was chosen to be part of the film. Earlier Kannan elephant had featured in Mammootty's Rappakal. Kannan has recently won the prestigious 'Gajarajapattom' award from Kodannoor Dharmashastha Kshethram. Kannan is famous for his calm behavior and has acted in more than 33 films.

Super star Mohanlal will play the role of Swami Vivekananda in Yugapurushan. Tamil star Satyaraj is also part of the cast.

Alexander the Great is the upcoming Malayalam film with superstar Mohanlal in the lead. This action adventure has started shooting from May 20 in Thiruvananthapuram.

The movie will have Bhavana in the female lead as a bank manager. Sleepy star Biju Menon dons the role of commissioner. Sai Kumar has the role of an executive in the bank.

Viewers can expect a thriller with all the ingredients of family, comedy sentiments, romance and action from this seasoned director. Trade circles are bullish on this project and are competing to get the film.

Super star Mohanlal has joined the biggest ever production in Mollywood ‘Pazhassi Raja’, by lending his voice for introducing the historic title character, in fact, one of the first freedom fighters of India. Lal has offered his maximum cooperation to the project and went out of the way to find time to dub for the prologue, which tells the viewers about the feats of Pazhassi.

Scripted by M T Vasudevan Nair, this historic project will get into theatres by the 2nd of October. Planned as a biggest ever release in Malayalam, the movie will make an international release simultaneously in five languages with around 600 prints. This is the first time, a Malayalam movie is making a release in such a grand scale.

Maradona is the only son of Joseph, a bank employee. Though he was reared with maximum care, facilities and fortunes, Maradona turned out to become a kind of spoil was never able to fulfill his parents ambitions. He couldn't even pass his B Com exam even after many sessions. He had a friend in sofiya, but somehow he was falling into newer problems whenever he was attempting for something different.

It was at this confusing juncture that Maradona decides to end his life. He plans to commit suicide by jumping into a dangerous sea. But the fate has something different destined for him. From the very instant he appeared on the shore, he was being watched by someone who found something different in the young man’s manoeuvres and behavior. And when Maradonna tried to push himself to the sea from a nearby lighthouse, this stranger came up and extended his hand to sinking Maradona, thus saving his life. Who is this stranger? What was his intentions? What was it that made him to rescue Maradona and revive his attitudes and made him a winner? ‘Angel John’ the new Mohanlal starer is all about this guardian angel and his different relationship with the young Maradana. An interesting hilarious plot written by Manaf is put to screen language by the young director Jayasuriya who debuted with the hit ‘The Speed Track’.

According to the director, the movie is a mix of fantasy and reality, more about the effects some total strangers make in our lives. While Mohanlal appears as the title character, Tamil actor Santhanu, son of Poornima and Bhagiyaraj is debuting into Mollywood playing Maradona. It is interesting to note that Mohanlal and Poonima debuted into films together in the eighties with the movie ‘Manjil Virinja Pookal’ where Lal's character was Villainish, trying to seize Poornima's character from her lover. But here in this movie, Lal comes up as a protector to her son Santhanu.

Also in the cast of ‘Angel John’ are Nithya, Mamtha, Lalu Alex, Vijayaraghavan, Innocent, Suraj Venjaaramoodu, Jagathy, Jayasoma, Bineeshkodiyery, Bheeman Reghu, Ambika, Baiju and Geetha. Produced by K K Narayana Das in the banner of Creative team, the movie is cinematographed by Ajayan Vincent. The year's national award winner Ouseppachan will tune the four songs of the movie written by Subhash and Saseendra Varma. The movie will be brought to theatres by Max lab entertainments.

Asal: The Power of Silence is a forthcoming Tamil feature film to be directed by Saran and produced by Prabhu Ganesan and Ramkumar Ganesan of Sivaji Productions. The film stars Ajith Kumar in dual roles, along with Prabhu Ganesan, Sameera Reddy, Bhavana and Rajiv Krishna to portray the film's lead roles. The film was launched in April 8, 2009,[3] and the shooting for the film started in Malaysia on June 18, 2009. It will be the most expensive Ajith film ever made.[4] The film has been slated to be released in November 27, 2009.

If there is one person other than Ajith who can make the actor’s fans happy, it is none other than Saran. Whenever the filmmaker joined hands with the ‘Ultimate Star’, the output was a blockbuster.

Fourth in the line from the duo (after Kadhal Mannan, Amarkkalam and Attagasam) is Asal, a movie produced by Sivaji Films, one of the reputed production houses in Tamil industry. The action-entertainer has two heroines- Sameera Reddy and Bhavana.

Asal’s success was predicted by Superstar Rajinikanth at the launch of the movie itself. The top actor, who was the chief guest of the function said, “When I was down after ‘Baba’ debacle, Ramkumar and Prabhu, sons of Sivaji Ganesan, did ‘Chandramukhi’ with me. The rest is all history. Ask Saran about the film, he says, “Asal is an Asal Thala film and Asal commercial film. It will be a glossy mass entertainer, with all necessary ingredients that an Ajith film need. I am sure that the movie would satisfy the fans of the actor.”

Ajith, who of late believes in making his films to do the talking, says, “The script is so interesting. Equally is the making of Saran. We all are putting our best efforts to make ‘Asal’ a thorough entertainer.”

Music composer of the movie Bharadwaj says, “The highlight of the album is the introduction song of Ajith, sung by 100 people together. Since it is a film to be shot predominantly abroad, I have not opted for ‘kuthu’ numbers. Instead, they will be trendy.”

He adds: “All my songs in Ajith - Saran combination (Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagasam) have topped the charts. The onus is on me to deliver this time too.” The onus is equally on Ajith-Saran too, you can say.

Story Line

Wanted: Dead and Alive is a remake of the 2006 Telugu movie Pokiri, directed by Prabhu Deva.

Radhe (Salman Khan) is a fearless man, who works for a ruthless mafia don Gani Bhai (Prakash Raj). He kills people in cold blood but his toughness melts when he meets Jhanvi (Ayesha Takia) and falls in love with her. Jhanvi tries to take him away from the big, bad world of criminals.

Besides Shruthi, the album has Kamal Haasan, Bombay Jayashree and Blaaze crooning. One is left wondering at the instrumentation and rhythm pattern brought out by Shruthi in the album. It is a pleasure listening to the songs.
